On January 14-17, the North American sales teams met in Oak Brook, Ill. for their annual sales meeting. The meeting was a resounding success. From technical sessions, informative workshops, to teambuilding activities, attendees had their choice of blending learning and collaborative events while establishing a clear vision for the new year.
Our mission to become a “global leader of high quality sustainable rigid packaging products and solutions” served as the foundation for the meeting. This theme was echoed in presentations given by the Executive Committee members and during business unit small group sessions. Throughout the week, the team discussed four key areas which are imperative in accomplishing our mission in 2020 and beyond.
Maintain a safe workplace for all employees
Our first priority will always be the safety of our most valuable asset, our people. An emphasis on safety extends beyond operations and each individual facility. We will always place the safety of our people above the expectations and demands of our customers. We all have a role to play in the safety of our people.
Derive value from and grow our closed loop business model
One of our greatest strategic advantages is our closed loop business model that is not replicated by our competitors. Through the closed loop business model, Mauser Packaging Solutions can provide customers with full packaging life cycle services. We not only provide customers with new packaging, but we provide services to clean packaging for re-use and eventually recycle worn out packaging at the end of its usable life. We must leverage this advantage to provide more services to existing customers and obtain new business.
Strengthen and grow our partnerships with customers in core markets while expanding our reach

While our wide variety of services and solutions available to customers through our different business units and divisions is an advantage, it can create frustration for our customers when they often encounter different sales teams, systems, and processes for each business unit. A key focus for 2020 will be streamlining points of contact and processes through the Platform Optimization strategy to provide customers with an improved “one Mauser” experience. We are one team, with one vision.
Our annual sales meeting is a critical component of a great sales culture.
