At Mauser Packaging Solutions, we live out the principles of Earth Day every day in the way we provide sustainable full life cycle packaging solutions, but Earth Day provides an opportunity each year to further engage with our employees and celebrate our commitment to sustainability. Several Small Packaging facilities celebrated Earth Day by hosting employee activities last week.
Trenton, New Jersey – Small Packaging Metals
Employees in Trenton, New Jersey were invited to participate in a birdhouse painting contest. Each employee was given a birdhouse, paint and paint brushes to get started. Completed birdhouses were judged in three categories – Best Overall, Most Unique and Most Creative - by local leadership and HR teams from other metals facilities. “This competition was a fun way to engage with our team and provide an opportunity for employees to show off their artistic talents,” said Jessica Markle, Trenton HR Generalist.
Bryan, Texas – Small Packaging Plastics
The Bryan, Texas facility celebrated earth day by planting a live oak tree in front of the facility and giving re-usable totes to employees. Team members from various areas of the facility participated in the planting of the tree. “Together we are preserving our planet for generations to come,” commented Susan Pugh, Plant Administrative Manager.
Cincinnati, Ohio – Small Packaging Metals
Employees in Cincinnati, Ohio were given DYI flower pot planting kits to use at home. Kits included a metal pot, soil and flower seeds in a variety of options. In addition to being good for the environment, these kits gave employees a fun activity to do with their families.
