Bremerhaven, Germany and Hamburg, Germany have significantly reduced incident rated based on previous years. Between 2019 and 2022, incidents in Bremerhaven have reduced by at least a third year over year. In Hamburg, incidents were reduced by half in 2021 compared to 2020. Both facilities are currently at zero incidents for 2022.
In Tarragona, Spain (NCG) employee participated in fire and chemical reaction training. Through this training, employees learn how to react in a fire or chemical reaction emergency, become familiar with various fire fighting equipment, and learn specific techniques for putting on and removing PPE without contaminating themselves or colleagues.
A Safety and Environmental Awareness Day was held on June 21 at the Grezzago, Italy facility.

As we focus on our second round of 12 Step Safety Building Block Audits, the Warren PA (New Metals) plant should be recognized for their focus and improvement with our foundational safety elements. Their first round score was 53%, second audit score 83.05%. 30.05% improvement. Thank you to the plant team for the focus and dedication to put these elements in place. Way to set the bar for our other facilities.

On July 11, the Indianapolis, Ind. achieved 11 years without a lost time injury. Plant Manager Ken Muncy commented on this achievement saying, "When it comes to safety there will always be room to improve and new hurdles to overcome but with your continued support we can go a long way to continuing out goal of zero injuries. This is what working safely is all about and we continue to improve on our culture and actions every day."
