Significant growth in the IBC market over the past 10 years has brought about the need for infrastructure investments in the North American Industrial Packaging (NAIP) IBC facilities.
“To support growth in the IBC market, we must plan for and invest in equipment,” commented Ed Konyen, NAIP Senior Vice President of Operations. Our operations and S&OP teams maintain a regional forecast which are compared against available capacities to identify when and where capital should be added to support growth. Findings of this comparison support investments in North Wales, Pennsylvania. and Anniston, Alabama.
In North Wales, Pennsylvania, a new blow molder enabling the facility to take advantage of potential opportunities in the Canadian market and free up additional capacity in Mauser’s Midwest facilities began operation in June. Start-up of the blow molder marked the completion of an 11-month project to install and test the machine. “Thank you to everyone for their support in the startup. There were a lot of challenges encountered during the project but in the end the Mauser Packaging Solutions team made it happen. It was truly a team effort,” commented Ed Bonilla, NAIP Processing Engineer.
