While tracking Leading Indicators provide the best method for preventing incidents before they happen, it is important to regularly examine key Lagging Indicators to compare against previous performance and industry benchmarks.
Despite some serious incidents already this year, Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) and Lost Time Incident Rate (LTIR) are trending favorably and all business units experienced a reduction in both from February to March.
