New Finance Development Program: Equipping our next generation of leaders

Michelle MachenMauser News

Earlier this week, Mauser Packaging Solutions announced the creation of the Finance Development Program (“FDP”) as a means to enhance talent within the Mauser family. Attracting and developing talent within Mauser is a critical success factor for our organization. Through this program, we seek to build a leadership pipeline in the finance function of individuals who have a breadth of competencies and perspectives from different parts of our organization.

The overall length of the program will be 2-3 years, with selected participants completing various rotations designed to enhance technical and leadership skills needed to succeed. Each rotation will last ~6-12 months and include exposure to various finance disciplines at a Corporate, Group and Plant level.  The roles in this program would typically require fewer than four years of work experience.

The attributes of the program include:

  • Experience broad and cross functional opportunities: Participants will experience exponential growth technically, analytically and professionally across multiple finance disciplines. This allows participants to gain in-depth knowledge of the business, build relationships across the broader finance team and allow them to add value throughout the organization.
  • Exposure and access to multiple aspects of the business and finance functions: Program participants are challenged by engaging with many different aspects of Finance within a manufacturing environment. This will enable a broad foundation that will benefit the team member’s development, creating a well-rounded finance professional.
  • Develop and build your skillset: Participants will receive on-going coaching to enhance analytical, leadership, presentation, and communication skillsets. Throughout the program, participants receive mentorship to help them in their professional development and increase readiness for next position/advancement.
  • Deliver results in your role: Participants are expected to be driven, learn quickly and deliver results in each of their rotations.
  • Have fun: Participate in “Lunch & Learns”, build relationships with colleagues, and more.

Participants involved in the launch of the new program will rotate through existing financial analyst roles that are being converted into the program.  These rotational positions will be located in Mauser’s offices in Oak Brook, IL or in Atlanta, GA.

An application process will be utilized to select program participants across both internal and external candidates – see link to job posting below for more information.

Interested internal candidates, should first speak with your current manager to obtain his or her approval to apply. Once approval has been granted, notify Jen Hiser, who is managing the FDP program, of your interest and to receive more details on the application process and next steps.

We are excited about this new program and the positive impact it will have on both our employees and the overall finance function within Mauser.
