EIP: Driving a Culture of Continuous Improvement

Michelle MachenMauser News

A continuous improvement mindset is embedded in Mauser’s culture, and the Earning Improvement Program (EIP) has been pivotal in maintaining financial stability amid challenging macroeconomic conditions. Since the program’s inception in 2021, EIP methodology has driven initiatives resulting in over $615 million in savings, while improving safety, encouraging collaboration, boosting efficiency, and increasing our sustainability efforts.

Your involvement is crucial at every stage of the EIP process, from generating ideas to implementing them. In facilities and functional groups where EIP methodology has been embraced, Mauser has seen significant value. However, there is still untapped potential for further benefits by institutionalizing processes and expanding adoption across all locations and areas of the business.

This year, Mauser is dedicated to formalizing and further institutionalizing the EIP process to streamline and accelerate idea implementation. After four years of practicing EIP methodology, we have a solid understanding of how the program works when executed well. We can now establish best practices and processes to alleviate pain points in turning ideas into implemented changes. Business unit and functional leadership teams are being established to provide additional insights in analyzing EIP ideas and offering cross-functional support for implementation. Additionally, business unit operational leaders will focus on formalizing EIP best practices and process sharing to ensure consistent methodology across the business.
