EIP - Reduce overall spend on PPE purchased monthly, while not sacrificing quality for our team members.
Result
October 2023 to October 2024 savings of $74K CAD at two facilities

In an effort to optimize our spend on personal protective equipment (PPE) without compromising on quality, NAIP employee Alexandre Dupont, Logistics Coordinator, Boucherville, Quebec, Canada, NAIP, spearheaded a comprehensive review of the current vendor. The objective was clear: to determine if we could achieve better pricing while maintaining the same high standards of PPE for our team members.
Alexandre began by compiling a detailed list of items and volumes purchased from the current vendor over the past 12 months. This comprehensive list was then provided to an alternative vendor for an equivalent item comparison. To ensure the products matched or exceeded the quality of those currently being used, samples were also obtained and evaluated.

Based on the findings, a pricing chart was created to compare costs between the two vendors. The comparison revealed significant savings with the new vendor, while maintaining the same quality standards. This initiative resulted in a total savings of $74,000 CAD (49%) over a 12-month period, from October 2023 to October 2024
Conclusion:
This initiative began with Alexandre's critical review of our current vendors and the question, "Can we do better?" The answer was a resounding "Yes, we can!" The transition to a new vendor was seamless and efficient, thanks to the collaborative efforts of our facilities in Brampton, Ontario, and Boucherville, Quebec.
By choosing this new option, we have not only achieved substantial cost savings but also ensured that our team members continue to receive high-quality PPE. This success story underscores the importance of regularly reviewing vendor relationships to ensure we are getting the best value for our investments.
