At Mauser Packaging Solutions, we live out the principles of Earth Day every day in the way we provide sustainable full life cycle packaging solutions, but Earth Day provides an opportunity each year to further engage with our employees and celebrate our commitment to sustainability. Several Small Packaging facilities celebrated Earth Day by hosting employee activities last month.
Dayton, New Jersey
Employee at the Dayton, New Jersey facility partnered with the Bayside Family Success Community Center for their annual Earth Day Garden Clean-up event on Friday, April 22. Team members participated by raking and cleaning out garden beds with the Perth Amboy community.
In addition to providing manual labor for the garden clean-up, the facility was able to set up a recruiting table to assist community members with employment opportunities. Re-usable totes and recruiting flyers were handed out to interested individuals.
“This year we look forward to re-engaging and giving back to our communities in meaningful ways. In doing so, we also build a solid network within our community and enhance our employee engagement,” commented Betzaida “Betsy” Medina, Dayton Human Resources Manager.
Newnan, Ga.
The facility in Newnan, Ga. planted 3 new red maples on company property in recognition of Earth Day. The trees will have a lasting impact on the aesthetics of the exterior of the facility and provide a benefit to the environment. Employees from various departments including production, mold shop, maintenance, HR and sales participating in the planting of the new trees.
Cidra, Puerto Rico
Employees at the Cidra, Puerto Rico facility were given succulent plants and vegetable seeds to take home. These gifts help employees celebrate earth day with their families and present opportunities to share with importance of caring for the earth.
