Every year, Mauser Packaging Solutions collects and reconditions millions of IBCs and drums. Legally, our customers who are generators of this empty packaging must follow regulations set forth by the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) when returning drums and IBCs to a Mauser reconditioning facility.
Educating Mauser customers about these rules and regulations not only helps protect our team members who receive and unload the empty containers, but also helps reduce the number of non-conforming containers received resulting in smoother processing.
In this new instructional video called, “Mauser Packaging Solutions, Guidance to RCRA Compliance and Safe Container Loading,” we highlight many areas of empty container management including RCRA guidelines for determining when a drum or IBC is considered empty, product labeling and closure requirements, and safe drum and IBC loading practices.
A big THANK YOU to the team at the Charlotte reconditioning facility, including the steel sorting center. The team’s attention to detail and preparation for filming helped everything go smoothly. It was inspiring to witness the team’s enthusiasm and pride for their operation!
